What is "sports nutrition consulting"?
Sports nutrition is a separate field in the world of general nutrition which focuses on recommendations and guidelines for sport activity. The aim is improved physical performance by eating correctly.  Sports nutrition consultation answers the question: 
"What and when should I eat relative to type, time and duration of activity in order to maximize physical abilities and performance?"
 
 
Many studies over the years have shown that in order to improve your physical ability and improve in sports, the training program alone is not enough! Some experts even say that nutrition has about 70% of the effect on the body, post-exercise.
 
 
Therefore recommendations what to eat and when to eat relative to periods of exercise (before, during and after) are very important.  Eating correctly is intended to encourage the muscle building, fat burning, sculpting your body.  It helps recovery from training, avoiding injuries and maintains health naturally.
 
 
What are the important rules in sports nutrition?
One of the most important rules of sports nutrition is that it necessary to eat in "correct timing" for the exercise. Sometimes even if you eat exactly the same things, but not at the right time, you will feel bad during the exercise (heavy, too full, less energetic) and won't allow building of muscles in the best way possible.  Therefore it is very important to know and plan what to eat and when to eat, even if you are not hungry or don't feel like eating. If you have been exercising, you need to make sure that you give your body the supplies that it needs.
 
 
Who needs personal consultation in sports nutrition?
Sports nutrition consultations are designed for professional athletes who are trying to break records and win competitions.  The need for consultation also applies to amateur athletes who train 2-3 times a week in the gym or perform any other regular sport activity (indoor, out-doors, Running, Swimming, Bicycle, Yoga, Pilates, Sumba etc.).
 
 
What kinds of measurement are taken during the sports nutrition consultation?
It is important to measure and monitor weight, fat percentage, BMI and Belly scope.  Blood tests are also reviewed.
 

What is the percentage of fat measurement? 
The fat percentage index allows us to make a distinction between the amounts of muscle relative to the amount of fat in the body. Most sports fields emphasize on low fat percentage in order to improve athletic performance. However, too low a percentage of fat may damage health and performance. Estimates of the fat percentage of athletes (professional or amateur) should be done individually, because of the many differences between people in the same fields of sports as a result of age, gender and genetics. The clinical measure of body fat percentage is taken with a caliper in four different places.
 
By measuring the fat percentage in combination with measurement of weight and use of stomach scope, the consultant can gain important information about changes relating to the type of exercise, improving strength, strengthening muscles, hormonal changes and rehabilitation after injuries.
 

Building a personal menu
As part of personal counseling, the consultant builds you a menu with the most correct nutritional recommendations for your preferences your exercise plan and length of activity. The recommendations take into account a long list of factors: the type of workout, length of workout, your fitness, your goals of fat percentage and weight (to go up or down, it is very important that we know in advance what is your purpose) the time of day for training, other constraints (e.g. a long drive to the place of the workout, being after a long day's work etc.) and of course your tastes - menu preferences.
 
Building a personal menu which focused on customizing the types and amount of foods that you should have in relation to exercise, could help you improve the muscle building process and improve the level of fitness without feeling fatigue and weakness during the day.
